My photography has always had a symbiotic relationship with travel, as each inspires me to do the other. What's more, I find I am most influenced by cultures that are the furthest removed from the modern world, as they seem to hold a secret to contentment.
Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to live and travel in some of the most exotic places around the world. The knowledge I've gained from each and every location I've worked is immeasurable. I am constantly challenging myself to connect with this "sense of place" and make striking images that transfer this insight onto a still frame.
As the great Henri Cartier-Bresson once said, "To take photographs is to put one's head, one's eye and one's heart on the same axis." It is this artistic ethos that first inspired me to use my camera to not only make beautiful images, but also to stimulate the viewer's imagination. Today, I use it to promote global awareness and cultural understanding through my photography. When I hear that my work inspires someone to learn more about a place or culture and perhaps explore it for him/herself, I feel greatly rewarded. To me, A World in Focus is more than just my company's name; it's a state of mind!
